How do I allow trainees to upload documents or share links?

Trainees can upload documents, or share links via the “File Request” module type. 

This module allows the ability for administrators or trainers to request specific files or web links from trainees. 

Once uploaded the course trainer can review the file or link, and score if needed, and/or mark as completed to note the request has been filled.

To get started, click on "Modules" from the left side of your Trakstar Learn account, and then click on "Create Module"

Next, you'll pick the "File Request" module type:

You can now fill out any necessary module details, including what you would like the trainee to upload. 

What does it look like for a trainee?

Once you've created the module, and added it to a course, your trainees will have the option to upload their files or add a link. 

What types and sizes of files can be uploaded?

Any file type, up to 1gb can be uploaded using this feature.

Please note:  Once the trainee selects to submit their file(s), the action is final.

What does the Admin/Trainer do after the trainee has submitted their requested file(s) and/or links?

After the trainee has submitted the requested file(s) and/or links the Admin/Trainer click on their hyperlinked name in the course 'Trainees' tab > click on the file icon in the 'Uploads' column in the 'Modules' section to down the file(s) and/or links to their computer/device for review. If the file(s) and/or links requested from the trainee are complete then the Admin/Trainer can click on the 'Complete' button for the module and enter in a score of 100% to signify that the task is complete.

Note - There is not currently an email notification alerting Admins/Trainers that the files have been uploaded.

If the file(s) and/or links requested from the trainee is/are incomplete or need correcting, then the Admin/Trainer will want to click on the 'Reset' button to send it back to the trainee so they can finish providing the missing file(s) and/or links requested.  Any file(s) and/or links that the trainee already uploaded will remain.
