Integration: Connect BambooHR to Trakstar Learn
The Trakstar Learn integration with BambooHR allows you to automatically create, update, archive, and rehire employee records in Learn using BambooHR as your organization's source of truth.
Once the integration is configured, employee information is synchronized automatically between BambooHR and Trakstar Learn, reducing manual administration and helping keep learner records up to date.
How the Integration Works
After the integration is enabled:
- New employees are automatically created in Trakstar Learn.
- Existing employee information is updated automatically.
- Archived employees can be reactivated when they return.
- Employee records remain synchronized with BambooHR through scheduled updates.
Required Employee Fields
The following fields are required for the integration:

Important: Every employee must have a unique Employee ID. This value must be mapped to a custom field in Trakstar Learn and is used to match employee records during synchronization.
Optional Employee Fields
The following organizational fields can also be synchronized to custom fields in Trakstar Learn:
- Business Unit
- Department
- Company
- Location
- Job Title
These fields can help organize learners and automate administrative tasks.
Automatically Assign Employees to Groups
One of the synchronized organizational fields can be used to assign employees to groups in Trakstar Learn automatically.
For example, if you synchronize the Department field:
- Create a Group in Trakstar Learn for each department.
- Map the Department field from BambooHR.
- During synchronization, employees are automatically assigned to the matching group.
This allows employees to automatically receive any courses assigned to their group without additional manual enrollment.

To enable the BambooHR integration:
- Contact the Trakstar Learn team at learn@trakstar.com.
- An Integration Specialist will work with you to configure the connection between BambooHR and Trakstar Learn.
- After the integration has been configured, employee records will begin synchronizing automatically.
