Copying a Course

Copying a course allows you to reuse an existing course as the starting point for a new one. The copied course includes the same modules, settings, and structure as the original, allowing you to make changes without rebuilding the course from scratch.

Copy a Course

  1. From the left navigation menu, select Courses.
  2. Open the course you want to copy.
  3. Click Course Actions.
  4. Select Copy Course.
  5. Enter a name for the new course.
  6. Confirm the copy.

A new course is created using the original course as a template. You can edit the copied course independently without affecting the original course.

What Is Copied?

When you copy a course, the new course includes:

  • Course name (which you can rename)
  • Course description
  • Course settings
  • Included modules
  • Passing score settings
  • Certificates
  • Email settings
  • Trainer information

The copied course is created as a separate course that can be modified independently of the original.

Before Inviting Trainees

After copying a course, review the following before assigning it to learners:

  • Update the course name and description, if needed.
  • Verify the course settings.
  • Review the included modules.
  • Confirm the passing score and certificate settings.
  • Update any deadlines or trainer information that should differ from the original course.
  • Preview the course to ensure everything appears as expected.

Important Considerations

  • Copying a course does not affect the original course.
  • Trainees enrolled in the original course are not automatically enrolled in the copied course.
  • Reporting, learner progress, and completion records remain separate for each course.
  • After creating the copy, invite learners to the new course when it is ready.
