Integration: Connect TriNet to Trakstar Learn via SFTP Data Feed

The Trakstar Learn integration with TriNet uses a Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) data feed to automatically synchronize employee records. Once configured, TriNet delivers a scheduled CSV file to Trakstar Learn, allowing employee information to stay up to date without manual imports.

Before You Begin

Before starting the integration:

  • Ensure you have access to TriNet Workforce Analytics.
  • You must be a Workforce Analytics Administrator to create and schedule the required report.
  • Contact the Trakstar Learn team at learn@trakstar.com to begin working with an Integration Specialist.

Step 1: Create the TriNet Report

TriNet provides a report template that contains the fields required for the integration.

To access the template:

  1. Sign in to TriNet.
  2. Navigate to Reports > Workforce Analytics > Community Templates.
  3. Select the Trakstar Integration Template.

Important: The integration is designed to work with the template as provided. Modifying the report structure or field order may prevent the integration from functioning correctly.

The report includes active employees and employees on leave. TriNet is treated as the source of truth for employee records.

Step 2: Schedule the SFTP Delivery

After creating the report:

  1. Open the Scheduler in TriNet.
  2. Create a new scheduled report using the Trakstar Integration Template.
  3. Configure the report to be delivered using SFTP.
  4. Enter the SFTP connection information provided by the Trakstar Learn Integration Specialist.
  5. Configure the schedule to run daily.

During setup, TriNet generates an SSH key. Send this key to your Trakstar Integration Specialist so it can be associated with your organization's SFTP account.

Step 3: Complete Integration Testing

After the scheduled delivery has been configured:

  1. Provide Trakstar Learn with a sample copy of the generated CSV file.
  2. The Integration Specialist will configure and test the connection.
  3. After TriNet begins sending scheduled files, additional validation will be completed to verify that employee records synchronize correctly.

Once testing is complete, the integration will begin automatically synchronizing employee information between TriNet and Trakstar Learn.
