How do course deadlines work?
Deadlines are useful if you want to limit how long trainees have to complete your module(s). You can set a deadline on the Settings tab in the Course. You can enter the number of days or weeks your trainees are allowed to complete your course after they receive the course invitation.
After the deadline, trainees who have not completed their modules will not be allowed to access them, but you can extend their deadline in the Trainees tab if you'd like them to have access again.
Check the box next to their name and under Trainee Actions, select Set Deadline. A Calendar window will appear. Select new Deadline date.
Trainees who do not complete their modules on time are marked as 'Missed Deadline' in reports. You can extend their deadline following these steps.
As trainees, they will see the following:
Something's wrong, the deadline was early!
Here's how they really work:
When you set a Course Deadline, here’s how the system treats it:
- The deadline triggers at 12:00 AM Pacific Time (PST) on the date you select.
- That means trainees have until 11:59 PM PST the day before to complete the course.
Example:
If you set the deadline as June 1, trainees have until May 31 at 11:59 PM PST to finish. At 12:00 AM PST on June 1, anyone who hasn’t completed the course will be marked as “Missed Deadline.”
✅ Tip: If you want trainees to have the entire day of June 1 to complete the course, set the deadline for June 2. The system will only mark them as missed when the clock strikes midnight on June 2.
