Publishing Captivate 7 SCORM content

To ensure the best compatibility with Trakstar Learn, configure your Adobe Captivate 7 project using the recommended publishing settings before uploading your SCORM package.

Note: Adobe Captivate 7 SCORM packages can be uploaded to Trakstar Learn on the Trial, Premium, and Enterprise plans.

Set the Project Size

Before publishing, configure your project dimensions to ensure it displays correctly across different screen sizes and devices.

Recommended project sizes:

To resize your project:

1. In Adobe Captivate, select Modify.
2. Click Rescale Project.
3. In the Rescale window, select User Defined.
4. Enter the desired width and height.
5. Save your changes.

Configure Publishing Settings

After setting the project size:

1. Click the Publish icon.
2. Verify that:
   • The project has the correct title.
   • The output folder is correct.
   • The publishing settings match the recommended configuration.
3. Click Preferences.

Configure Quiz Reporting

In the Preferences window, configure the quiz reporting settings.

Required for All Projects

Regardless of whether your project contains a quiz:

• Set the reporting standard to SCORM 1.2.
• Set completion reporting to Incomplete → Passed/Failed.

Tracking Options

Choose tracking based on whether your project contains a quiz.

Configure Settings

Open the Settings tab and configure the following:

Quiz Requirement

• If the project contains a quiz, set it to Required.
• If the project does not contain a quiz, you may choose either Optional or Required.

Hide the Playbar During Quizzes

Hiding the playbar while learners are taking a quiz helps prevent them from accidentally skipping quiz questions and failing the course.

Configure Passing Score

Open the Pass or Fail tab.

Passing Score

Set a passing score for the project.

Note: Trakstar Learn determines course completion using the passing score configured within the course itself. The passing score configured in Adobe Captivate does not determine whether a learner passes the course in Trakstar Learn. However, using the same passing score in both locations helps ensure consistent messaging for learners.

Quiz Attempts

Configure the project to allow one attempt.

If learners should receive additional quiz attempts, configure those attempts within the quiz properties rather than in the publishing settings. Allowing multiple attempts in the publishing settings can cause learners to become stuck during the quiz.

Publish the SCORM Package

After reviewing all settings:

1. Return to the main Publish window.
2. Click Publish.
3. After publishing is complete, locate the generated .zip file.
4. Upload the .zip package to Trakstar Learn.
