Can I reuse previous module scores?
Reuse Previous Module Scores
If the same module is included in more than one course, you can allow trainees to reuse their previous module score instead of completing the module again. This can save time by recognizing a trainee's existing completion and score across courses that use the same module.
Enable Module Score Reuse
- Open the course where you want to enable score reuse.
- Select the Settings tab.
- Click Edit in the upper-right corner.
- Select Allow trainees to reuse scores from modules.
- Click Save to apply your changes.

How Module Score Reuse Works
When a trainee opens a module that they have already completed in another course:
- They select the module as if they are beginning it for the first time.
- Trakstar Learn prompts them to choose one of the following options:
- Reuse their previous module score.
- Retake the module.
- If the trainee selects Reuse, their previous completion data and score are applied to the module in the new course.
Note: Completion data is not copied automatically when the trainee is enrolled in the new course. The trainee must open the module and choose Reuse for the previous score and completion status to be applied.
When to Use This Feature
Consider enabling module score reuse when:
- The same module is assigned in multiple courses.
- Trainees should receive credit for training they have already completed.
- You want to avoid requiring learners to repeat identical training content.
