If you have specific questions about the course or content, contact the trainer noted in the course or your internal learning team.  If you are having trouble logging in or getting started, contact the Learn support team at learn@trakstar.com.

Accessing the Course

The two most common ways you will access a course are either via an email invitation or by self-enrolling.

Email Invitation

An email invitation will contain the trainer, course name, course modules, and the deadline (if applicable).  Click Get Started to begin.

If you have never logged into this specific instance of Learn, you will be prompted to create a password.  Save this password, as you can easily log in and take courses in the future!

Self-Enrolling

Your organization may also publish its courses in catalogs or ask you to self-enroll in courses through Trakstar Academy.  Once you select the course to self-enroll in, you'll see a page similar to the one below.  Click Get Started to begin.

If you have never logged into this specific instance of Learn, you will be prompted to create a password.  Save this password, as you can easily log in and take courses in the future!

Every Learn instance has its own login and password.   For example, if you have created a login for Trakstar Academy's Learn account, you must set a new password for your organization's Learn account.  These are separate logins and separate accounts.

Viewing Your Course

Once you've registered or logged in, your course will be displayed!  You may see an intro slide with information such as the course title, last updated date, description, or passing score.

The bottom bar is how you will navigate through Learn.  The three lines in the left-hand corner are the Course Drawer, and clicking on it will bring up various options to exit or move through the course.

The number in the center displays how many slides there are in the course, and which you are currently on.

The arrow in the right-hand corner will move you to the next slide.

Course Drawer

The nine squares allow you to preview the course slides.  The arrow logs you out.  The house will bring you to your trainee dashboard.  And the x will close this navigation window.

Here is an example of clicking on the nine squares to preview all slides in the course.

Course Content

Courses can consist of many elements - such as videos, quizzes, surveys, slides, PDFs, or interactive elements.  There may be various controls within the course- let's review a few of them here.

Video Controls

When a video is displayed in Learn, additional options will appear to allow you to play the video.  You'll see the play button on the screen and in the lower left-hand corner.  You'll also see additional media controls - such as volume and full screen - and video duration.

The course may restrict skipping the video without watching it and the ability to watch at different speeds.

Once you have watched a video, continue the course by clicking the arrow in the lower right-hand corner to advance forward.

Interactive Elements

Your course may include additional interactive elements, where you complete tasks or take action within the slides.  When you've completed these actions or tasks, remember to continue the course by clicking the arrow in the lower right-hand corner to advance forward.

Handouts

Handouts are files or links intended as supplemental information to the course.  These will display on the intro slide (if applicable), the final slide of the course, and the trainee dashboard. Be sure to download the file or bookmark the links for future reference!

Quizzes

If quizzes are included, the quiz page will show the number of questions in the quiz and the number of tries each question allows.

There are six different question types, each with its own distinctive look and ways to select the correct answer.

If the response is correct, there will be a green "CORRECT" indicator. They can move forward by clicking on the right arrow button.

If the response is incorrect, it will be indicated as such by the color red. If multiple attempts has been enabled they will see the option to try again. Once submitted, if Show Correct Answers is enabled the option to see the correct answer will appear.

Trainee Dashboard

You can return to your trainee dashboard via the home button within the Course Drawer.  From here, you will see all courses you are enrolled in, completed courses, and courses you can self-enroll in (if applicable).  We suggest bookmarking this page for easy access.
