Creating a Module

Modules are the building blocks of training in Trakstar Learn. This article explains how to create a module and configure its basic settings before adding content.

Create a Module

  1. From the left navigation menu, select Modules.
  2. Click Create Module in the upper-right corner.
  3. Choose the appropriate module type.

On Demand

Choose On Demand when trainees should complete training at their own pace.

This module type supports:

  • Uploading learning content
  • Creating quizzes
  • Creating surveys
  • Self-paced learning

In Person

Choose In Person to track attendance and scores for instructor-led training.

This module type:

  • Tracks attendance and completion
  • Does not include a Content tab
  • Does not contain uploaded learning content

Note: Some Learn plans also include a File Request module type for collecting documents or links from trainees.

Configure the Module

After creating the module, you'll be taken to the Manage tab.

Module Information

Enter the following information:

  • Module title
  • Module description

Module Settings

Configure the module's passing requirements.

The Minimum Passing Score calculates the trainee's average score across all quizzes in the module to determine whether the module has been successfully completed.

Handouts

Handouts are downloadable files that trainees can keep for future reference.

Common examples include:

  • Employee handbooks
  • Product manuals
  • Reference guides
  • Supplemental documentation

Handouts are intended to support the training but are separate from the primary learning content.

Next Steps

Once you've configured your module, you're ready to add learning content.

After your module is complete, add it to a Course before inviting trainees to begin training.
